Forsyth County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government records desk. It cannot confirm whether a person is in custody, release anyone, retrieve an official file, or change a sheriff, police, court, or corrections record. Use the office that created or currently holds the record.

Do not send private case documents here. Questions about custody, a booking photo, a police report, a warrant, or a court result must go to the originating agency or Clerk.

Forsyth County Sheriff and LEDC

For current county custody, use the official FCSO inmate catalog. For a booking or existing intake record, contact the FCSO Records Division. The Law Enforcement Detention Center is at 201 North Church Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101, and its phone is 336-917-7600. Sheriff administration and Records are at 301 North Church Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101, with general line 336-917-7001.

The Records Division public window is Monday through Friday, excluding county holidays, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The county’s written instructions require identification and a written application. Ask about the current fee and timing because no booking-photo fee or guaranteed production time was published in the reviewed source.

Courts and State Custody

Use North Carolina eCourts for case events and the Forsyth County Courts route for Clerk information. The Clerk’s main number is 336-779-6300. A certified court disposition comes from the Clerk, not from a police arrest-record request.

For a person sentenced to state adult custody or supervision, use NCDAC offender search instructions. The county roster is not a state-prison locator. For federal imprisonment, use BOP; for current ICE custody, use the ICE locator. Neither is a public county booking-photo source.

What to Include in a Request

Give the custodian enough detail to locate an existing record:

  • Full name and, if known, booking or case number.
  • Approximate arrest or booking date and the location of the incident.
  • Arresting or responding agency, such as FCSO, WSPD, or KPD.
  • The exact record sought, such as an existing booking photograph, intake record, arrest report, or court disposition.
  • A request for a fee estimate and the legal basis for any withheld material.

Do not request protected juvenile material, sealed records, private victim details, or a new report that the office does not maintain. A booking is an accusation, and the later court disposition must be checked separately.
